UPDATE!

CHZM is currently transitioning to the Specific.Area.Message.Encoding system that is quite reliable but will be a long process to setup and startup. 

At Friday, March 13th 2026. The CHZM Team will be issuing the old system's final Network Notification Message about the transition happening.

This transition will cost a lot of money, work and time to build and startup to work with our system. We have prepared a few area codes for the local area. The reason we are making this transition is due to the recent shutdown of the Weatheradio Canada system that we used as an alert monitor. 

Also, the transmitter system will have to be replaced due to it being too obsolete for the new Emergency Alert System. 

Weather Alerts issued by Environment Canada through XML/CAP and Alert Ready will be relayed to the new EAS system that will be established for the station.
